The Wisdom of Rabbit

I was moving at a great speed down a long tunnel to communicate with Rabbit. My heart was beating uncontrollably. The tunnel opened to a field brightly lit by the sun, but before I could even focus on anything, I felt myself begin to move rapidly around the landscape. I wasn't sure what was happening, everything around me was a blur and I was experiencing so much fear. I looked beside me and rabbit was there racing along with me. I looked behind us and I saw we were being chased by ghostly, hooded beings with ghoulish faces. We ran and ran, turning whichever way
to escape our nemesis. The experience was exhausting. Then... there was stillness. Rabbit found cover; it was safe for a bit. Rabbit sat by my side panting feverishly. As I began to catch my breathe a completely different experience came over me. I began to experience so much fear that I became completely paralyzed.

I wanted to move out of the vision for I thought that something was very, very wrong. Then, a light appeared beside rabbit. When the light faded, a very gentle and soft spoken woman sat in it's place stroking rabbit's fur. She smiled at me and said, "Fear can make us move in such ways that we have no idea where we are going or what we are doing. It can force us to make very bad choices for ourselves or no choices at all, leaving us completely paralyzed; taking no action." The woman motioned away from her and the ghoulish beings who were chasing us earlier approached the three of us. I instinctively removed the hoods from them and found that I was staring at myself. The fear that I was experiencing completely vanished.

"Many times, fear is simply us refusing to look at an unloved aspect of ourselves. Dance with your fears, get to know them. In uncovering the truth behind our fears and taking action, we empower ourselves and can tap into power we may never even know we had. Fear is simply an illusion, a mask. It can be one of our greatest teachers and an opportunity to come into great love for ourselves."

With that, the woman and the beings vanished. I stayed by rabbit's side as she ate some greens growing in front of her. I thanked her for the intense lesson, caught my breath one last time and began to find my way back to the tunnel with my guide.
